Sanctum Sanctorum

An imagined amphitheatre of worship, tiered with hundreds of devotees in green and red, encircles a solitary blue Shivalinga at its floor. Temple gopurams rise in the distance in lavender and pink, lending an almost theatrical grandeur to the scene. Puli Vijaya Kishore's meticulous architectural draughtsmanship is on full display here — the receding tiers and the perspective of the circular gallery are rendered with impressive precision in pure watercolour.
