On a deep plum ground, women in vivid orange-red sarees whirl in concentric spirals around a blazing blue-violet centre — the Ras Lila made purely abstract. The colour contrast between the warm vermilion figures and the cool purple field is electric, and the mandala's recession into the centre creates a sense of joyous, irresistible momentum.
