Daughters of the Grove

Three women with luminous green-toned skin emerge from a grove of leafy trees against a warm amber sky, their expressions serene and knowing. Adorned with traditional jewellery — gold hoops, nose rings, bangles — they seem to embody the forest itself: ancient, abundant, rooted. The painting draws from the tradition of yakshi and vanadevatā imagery while achieving a thoroughly contemporary freshness.
