City of Temples

Against a vivid vermilion ground, a lone woman in white and olive sits amid a landscape entirely composed of small white shikhara-topped temples — dozens upon dozens of them, receding in every direction to the horizon. The sheer density of sacred architecture pressing in around her single figure creates an overwhelming sense of the divine permeating the everyday. This is Puli Vijaya Kishore at her most symbolically concentrated: one soul, infinite shrines.
